Where and when to find Children/Youth genre authors:
Authors will be presenting in UA classrooms every hour in the Festival's Children's Area. Many more will be sharing their stories on the Story Blanket, Teen Authors Lounge and the Storytelling Stage.

Schedule of Entertainment and Activities:
This schedule lists hour-by-hour activities that are planned on various outdoor stages for kids of all ages. Don't miss the free LindleyLopez Circus from San Diego. It will be located on the UA mall just west of Cherry. There will be 3 shows each day (10 AM, 1 PM, 4 PM) featuring stories from Dr. Seuss and The Wizard of Oz.

Featured Educator: Donalyn Miller
• In "The Book Whisperer," Donalyn Miller weaves her passion for reading and teaching into an effective approach for motivating kids to read and build a life long love of reading.
• She has a blog on Education Week helping parents and teachers with motivating children to read (http://blogs.edweek.org/teachers/book_whisperer).
Professional Development credit available for teachers:
This year's Festival features an Educational Strand of workshops specifically aimed at teachers and parents, including topics such as using Effective Read Alouds in classrooms; a Storytelling Workshop; Organizing a Reading Program; Talking with Kids about Books, and Motivating Kids to Read. Many national and local children's book authors and illustrators will be offering workshops at the Festival, including such noted authors and illustrators as Alma Flor Ada, Mark Teague, Tim Tingle, Jon Scieszka, Frank Beddor, Lisa Yee, Ying Chang Compestine, and Patricia McKissack.
To receive professional development hours for licensing or salary increment credit, download and print out the PDF form you will need to have stamped at each session you attend. You can also get this form at the Children's Festival Volunteer Booth located in the lobby of the Education Building on the UA Campus.
This form must be stamped at each author/illustrator presentation or workshop you attend. At the end of each day, return the form to the Volunteer Booth to certify your attendance. Credit may also be given for attending author presentations outside of the children's area; check at the Volunteer Booth for more information.

Transportation to Festival: The Casas Adobes Rotary Club is providing $2,500 to help defray the cost of providing buses for schools and groups bringing families to the Festival. Applications are available now. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. Funding is limited and based on need. [Download application information]
Free Book Tent: These free books are for kids (infant through 8th grade). It was a major gathering place last year and is generously sponsored by Cox Communications, Inc. in 2010. Download a flyer with coupon on the bottom; bring back coupon to receive a free book: [English] | [Spanish]
Free parking: Many university parking lot and garage options are available. (The Second Street parking garage is reserved for authors.) [Parking map]

Disability Access
- Directional signage has been added to the Mall to assist in locating accessible routes.
- Accessible restrooms are located in buildings open for the event. A unisex accessible restroom is located in the Main Library.

- A Sign Language interpreter will be available on a limited basis on-site throughout the Festival. Please inquire at the TFOB's Volunteer Center in the Student Union.
